The Protector

Do you remember the movie, "The Bodyguard?" The character, Frank Farmer, played by Kevin Costner, is summoned to protect Hollywood starlet, Rachel Marron, played by Whitney Houston. Farmer is a studious bodyguard. He installs and fixes security cameras on Marron's property. He builds a trusted team around him to aid her escape routes when trouble arises, even in a moment’s notice. He is well trained in self-defense and knows how to countermeasure every tactic an attacker may use to hurt Marron.

Likewise, God is an omnipotent protector!

Psalm 91:11 says, "For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways."

Angels are spiritual bodyguards for believers. The Psalmist offers encouraging news to readers that angelic beings have received their commission from the Lord. They are instructed to watch over and secure the interests of the faithful. They intervene on less than a moment’s notice.

Similar to a 911 call, when God’s people call on Heaven, the Lord dispatches a Kingdom army to respond to prayers and intercede on our behalf.

19th century theologian, Charles Spurgeon notes, “The limit of this protection ‘in all thy ways’ is yet no limit to the heart which is right with God."

Furthermore, the Lord dispatches you and I as a blessing and protectors. Believers are called to shine our light and to do good works. Not for the purpose of salvation but to glorify God (Matt. 5:16).

PressForward trusting that you are protected, and believe that the power of Heaven is with you and within you. ♡
