Our Weakness Can Demonstrate Christ-likeness

Do you feel like your biggest heartbreak, your most intense heartache, or your lowest point will tear you to pieces?

Heartaches, heartbreak, and low points certainly have the ability to tear us to pieces. We each have our share of breaking points in this lifetime.

Concerns which produce weariness in the heart, issues that cause friction in the spirit, events which appear to crush the soul God utilizes to form us into Christ-likeness, and to shine His glory.

Harsh, tumultuous seasons often show how fragile we are in our humanness, and that we need a power greater than self to help us.

The apostle Paul used the metaphor of jars of clay to describe the powerlessness of human weakness and to remind us of God’s all-surpassing greatness. God promises His children that seasons of affliction will not crush us. In moments of perplexity, the Lord is with us and His power is within us. In times of despair, we may be weakened and hard pressed but not defeated. The word says do not lose heart, but to endure the trials. Believers are His treasured clay pots. As a Christ follower, the Lord infuses the glory of God’s spirit into the fragility and finiteness of the human spirit. God is not embarrassed to use His fragile jars of clay to glorify His great name! PressForward, friends, allowing our brokenness to shine His gloriousness. ♡

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed…” (2 Corinthians 4:7-9)
