Peacekeeping in the Chaos

With all of the pandemonium occurring in this world, it's so easy to allow chaotic thoughts to flow through the mind. A chaotic mind can become trapped in the ugliness of the world and believe that an ugly outcome is likely possible. A chaotic mind can shift into survival mode such that a person is white knuckling (fear that is causing intense suspense or dread) each moment. For example, in an inflationary season, a family's budget tightens to the point whereby fear causes chaos to implode hope. Chaotic stress will make you believe there is no end to the mess.

The Bible offers numerous biblical narratives (stories) and Bible verses to aid in keeping our peace and walking in hope. Here are two: first, there is no need to succumb to anxiousness, but to pray through all circumstances (Philippians 4:6). Another: although Jesus prayed to the point of sweating drops of blood (his anxiety was high) in the Garden of Gethsemane, because He knew the suffering that was coming for Him, He also knew there was greater purpose and wonderful outcome coming on the other side of His tumultuous suffering.

Second, flee from thoughts of panic and chaos while trusting that divine care and protection surround you (1 Peter 5:7).

How do we cast our chaos, burdens, and anxiety on Christ? It is trusting that, through the pandemonium, God will see believers through the chaos. Nothing will thwart God's promises or purpose. One promise is that God will make good out of what was meant for evil. There is purpose such that believers can give a reason for our hope - Jesus!

Run to the Lord, for He is the only source of hope, peace, and strength. Lean into the Savior; He is a strong tower and a safe haven. PressForward with complete trust that the Lord will bring order to the disorder and calm to the chaos. ♡
